I personally find it odd. If you're uncomfortable with it, let it be known!

Only parents should be alone with the kid in the bathroom in my opinion. When my mother in law does something I don't like I tell my husband since it's his mother he can figure out how to tell her to stop without being harsh on her.

Why is this such a problem or so unnatural?

I was a little confused also. The OP wasn't very generous with details. Like do they live with the mother in law or does this person watch the child on a regular basis?! If I have my grandson or my daughters boyfriends 3 yr old and they are staying thr night or if I'm babysitting and they spill food on themselves or play in the dirt then I'm not going to let the child walk around filthy! Of course I would bathe them! But unfortunately the OP was only in the forum for a couple hours so we may never get any details......for the people against giving another child a bath.....fill me in....unless its a known or suspected sexual offender which I wouldn't allow near my child or family in the first place....

I mean, I don't know... I'm not a mom, but if you'd ask me I'd probably be of the "who cares, as long as the kid is clean" persuasion.
I can only assume everyone who answered "it's not right" would say so because of molestation concerns?
Personally, I think this whole issue of kids not being allowed to be nude and the hysteria over who's seeing them naked is completely overblown. Sure, child molestation is extremely concerning and pornography is disgusting and all that, but seriously? If the grandmother bathes the kid it's automatically a red flag now?

No, Tingles and cacahuate, the OP isn't concerned that the mother in law is giving the child a bath. Her concern is...the mother in law is getting in the bath with them. Which to me, is kinda werid.

My mother in law and mother, both watch watch my daughter on alternating days while I'm at work. And I have noooo problem with either of them giving her a bath, especially when she gets dirty (it really does save me time when they do it- which isn't always, anyway), but I think I would find it strange if either of them took the bath with her. Why would they need to? Or want to? I don't know about anyone else...but my 3 year old pees in the bath ALL the time (smh)...I wouldn't want to get in with her, lol.

But yes, it is weird that a grandparent would do it.

Hey there Cacahuate! I think it was my turn to be messaging you on whatsapp but I've had no time to breath lately! After I spent all those days in the hospital with Kay, I was home for maybe an hour or two then my other daughter got a scratch in her eye so I had to turn right back around and take her to get her eye checked out. It was scratched but they gave her antibiotic eye drops and she was better in a couple days. I had to go up to the hospital again tonight because Jeremy's grandmother was having breathing problems. They ran all necessary tests and she has bronchitis, I'm so glad it didn't turn into pneumonia! Its just been one thing after another!!
But now back to the subject.....
I truly think that there are many more sexual perverts here than there are there. I can type in my zip code and choose a 1 to 5 mile radius and I would probably find hundreds of s*x offenders in that small area! That's the only thing I can think of as to why we assume that everyone around us is creepy!! In fact, yesterday I had 3 creepy men experiences myself and I'm still not sure what to think about them!! I'll message you and explain more later! I still don't see a big deal with giving a baby family member a bath though. Someone has to, they can't do it themselves.
