pain relief in labour

What would you say is the best pain relief during labour and birth. Preferably by personal experience.

I'm someone who has experienced an epidural labor and a natural labor. To be 100% honest I preferred the natural labor because your body just knows what to do, it knows when to push and your chances of tearing is less because you know when to push. With my labor where I had the epidural u just felt numb and I tore bcuz I didn't know when or how to push.

A natural labor was better for my sister. She gave birth in a pool of water without an epidural with her last child. She said her first birth was scary bc her body was to relaxed with the epidural and she ripped and had to get stitches.

I got an epidural with all 3 of my kids.it was amazing but with my last my epidural didn't work even after I got an extra dose and now I get bad pains where they put it in in my back. Natural is rough but don't count on an epidural.i did and while in labor the unexpected happened-it didn't work after having 2 prior that did.just my experience

I ripped all 3 times but only needed stitches the first 2. The 1st time I got 20 and the 2nd around 40. Sorry about the second post i just saw someone mentioned ripping.
