Epidural

How many of you had an epidural and still suffer from a backache? I want the backache to go away... The nurses said it can be short or long term and I can't do much. My back is killing me. Any relief you ladies tried and how long did the backache last for you?

Are you sure the pain you're having is from the epidural? Pregnancy is a trauma really on the whole body. Maybe try visiting a chiropractor.

Yes I'm sure it was the epidural. This is my third vag delivery but first epidural. I never had back pain in this third pregnancy. I made sure I asked two nurses and my doctor why my back was hurting. They all said it was the effect of the epidural and should go away. It has improved as of today.

I still have some back pain every now and then but it's not constant. My daughter will be 3 in July.

I had an epidural and a terrible backache for 3months but i’m suffering from double scoliosis so that was nothing for me ! I’m used to back pain since i was a teenage (i’m 32). You can ask your dr for Naproxen ...it’s a lifesaver. Good luck!

I still suffer to this day from the epidural backache. My son is now 16 its not as bad as what it used to be. But it can come back bad sometimes. I refused to have it on my daughter who is now 12 and I will not be having it when I have this baby.

It’s been 2 1/2 yrs...my back still hurts every morning I sleep over 6 hrs, improvement from everyday though..had a wet tap from epidural, my spinal fluid leaked, causing loss of feeling & movement in lower body...my son was delivered mins after the effects were gone and before they turned on epidural meds...which I didn’t need thanks to spinal fluid...entire situation was utterly futile...
