I had the same problem and this solution saved me. Add to every meal you have one tablespoon of olive oil (uncooked obsly!). It goes with most meals but even if it doesn’t go with your main meal, put it in your salad or eat it with some bread

I was in the same boat last year. I had to be hospitalized for clinical anorexia (which is extreme weight loss as a side effect/symptom of something else, like cancer/chemotherapy, but mine was stress induced, long story) and nearly died. Every doctor and nurse, including my PCP, a GI specialist, and a nutritionist, told me this:

Eat like a trucker.

Basically, eat a lot of fattening foods.

I ate a lot of rice, pasta, and some potatoes because they’re loaded with carbs, and carbs will put weight on pretty quickly. I also have a massive sweet tooth, so I ate a lot of things like snack cakes, sugary breakfast cereals, pancakes with lots of syrup, candy (mostly chocolate haha), ice cream (vegan because for an unknown reason I can’t tolerate dairy), and various other sweet snacks. Also, crackers. Like Ritz, Club, and oyster/soup crackers. Also was eating a lot of popcorn chicken haha. Peanut butter is great too if you’re not allergic to peanuts.

I started trying to eat healthier once I hit 115lbs, which was my normal weight before all this happened, and a month after I hit it I was suddenly 130lbs! I’ve never weighed this much in my life! I’m at 132lbs now (I’m 24 and 5’4”) and intend to start working out a bit along with the healthier eating to get back to my normal weight if possible (a lot of my clothes don’t fit anymore and I can’t afford to replace my wardrobe, plus a few things are 100% irreplaceable) and build up some good muscle. So I guess it’s more toning and turning the excess weight into muscle.

If lactose is the only reason you can’t have dairy, try getting some protein powder and making a lot of calorie dense shakes (just Google “high calorie shakes” or “weight gain shakes”, you’ll find recipes that have anywhere from 500-2000 calories apiece!). If it’s the proteins in dairy, try a vegan protein powder and use it and your dairy free milk of choice as substitutes in the shake recipes that call for milk and/or protein powder.

Eat as many calories, carbs, and as much protein as you can. Eat as many times a day as you can. I was recommended to eat every 2-3 hours, even if it’s just a snack. Definitely eat three full meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner!) and just snack between meals as much as you can. But don’t hurt yourself! Making yourself sick won’t be helpful.

Good luck! And do make sure you eat SOME healthy food, too! Some fruits and vegetables as sides and ingredients are never a bad thing!

(If you go for vegan protein powder, try Vega or Orgain, but look carefully at the Orgain because not all of theirs are vegan friendly, and they do also have premade protein shakes that are essentially just the powder already liquified for you, the vanilla ones are an acquired taste but not bad at all. If you want ice cream, I absolutely LOVE the SoDelicious brand chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream made with coconut milk! They have other flavors made with coconut milk, cashew milk, and even oat milk, too! Halo Top also has some vegan ice cream, I’ve got a pint of their peanut butter cup flavor stashed in my freezer!)
