Giving birth during a pandemic

Giving birth during a pandemic

Postby Pimii96 » Thu Apr 23, 2020 6:34 pm

Hi everyone! So my sister is 38 weeks pregnant and could go into labour at any point but she's due in the first week of May. This is her second pregnancy and she's still deciding whether to have a home birth with her mid wife with her or to go to a hospital. During a pandemic like this I know she's really considering a home birth to not put herself or the baby at risk to Covid-19. Has anyone considered or is currently considering the same thing? Stay safe everyone ?

I'm only 19 weeks but I'm currently considering the same.

She just had her baby boy and it was at home. Sooo much more less stressful and relaxing for her and baby

Good for her! Congratulations to her. I am high risk, so a home birth is not advised for me. I would definitely try a water birth though. They allow them at one of our hospitals.
