Giving birth without husband...

Postby PaOlKi » Sat Mar 21, 2020 8:25 am

Hello girls! My giving birth date is 23rd of April.. and because of Coronavirus, they won’t allow my husband with me during that beautiful moment.. he won’t be even able to visit me and see baby ... does anyone of you also have that problem?? I don’t know if I can make it myself.. we were planning that special moment together.. without his mental support.. idk

Cause of the Coronavirus, he's probably deployed or something

The only way he would be deployed is if he was in the military.

Flying commercial and being deployed are two different things.

In the 70s when my mom had me, no husbands were allowed. Mom was there with the nurses/doctor/midwife. They had sent my dad home to await a phone call when I was born. Back then they didn't know what they were having, so it was a surprise. The nurses offer great support. My husband has not been there for my last few births; he cannot see blood. He waits outside the room until everything is past. With my last one he was at the hotel sleeping. I sent him a message after the birth, which he read when he woke up in the morning.??
In certain countries no husbands were allowed in. Hospital protocol. No husbands, no visitors. Due to trying to keep the environment as germ-free as possible. The new mother would show her husband the baby through the window. Some places have a week stay in the hospital after birth. After a week, when mom and baby were discharged, the father was finally able to physically greet both mother and baby.?‍♀️

Thankfully things changed and the father of the baby should be allowed to be there for support and bonding. Right now my hospital is allowing one person in for a birth, I'm due in 3 weeks so I hope that doesn't change. I need and want him to be there.
