Labor induction

Labor induction

Postby BabygirlX0 » Thu Feb 13, 2020 3:08 am

Currently 37 weeks and 4 days. I’m scheduled for labor induction at 38 weeks due to my baby’s “small” size. My baby is measuring at 5lbs, 12ounces currently. I’ve always been tiny weighing 89lbs at start of pregnancy to now weighing 120lbs currently. My height 4’11 if wondering.
Has anyone had a labor induction before? Any tips, advice, similar situation , or anything that i should worry about?

This is my third pregnancy. I am 39 weeks pregnant and my doctor said that he will induce me next week. I said no, because i had no issues with first two labors and deliveries. I had ultra sound last week and baby was 6lb6oz. My due date is on 16th. So i would like to know if any woman had similar situation like us :))

Why does he want to induce? I've been induced 4 times out of seven births.

So sorry about your loss. Do you know why they let you go until 43rd week ? I heard someone say in this forum that the chances of still birth, infection etc increase if baby is left in there beyond 42 weeks. You may want to change your hospital and doctor for future pregnancies if they failed to guide you right.

Usually, the placenta and everything dies out at that point which can easily kill a baby in the womb, due to lack of nutrients etc. so I don't believe it was the inductuon itself harmed the baby but letting it stay past 42 weeks that's the ultimate week they'd let you go in my country.

I was induced with my first two pregnancies and will probably be induced with this one. The first one I was 40 weeks but my waters was low and they didn’t want me having a dry birth. The second was at 37 weeks and it was because my blood pressure spiked and I started running a fever. To me an induction is not a bad thing. It just kick starts your labor for you. You probably feel like your labor lasts longer because you will be in the hospital through the whole labor process where other women’s labor starts at home before they take themselves to the hospital. It doesn’t seem so bad or that long when you are not stuck in a hospital room. Good luck!

Don’t let them I’m same size as you with same weight when I was pregnant I gave birth to 4 children all natural no epidural and they are all healthy (I had my second one induce because I didn’t educate my self and it the worse pain) if nothing it’s wrong with I’m you or your baby you should be fine to have your baby natural! Read more about it and you have the last word girl!!

Firstly the weights on the scans are jst an estimate... They weight at birth is usually nt even the same as per the scan... If baby is considered small thy should actually let u be an extra week or 2 that baby could grow more thy usually only induce if there are complications or if baby is considered way to big for the gestational age or overdue past ur due date a week or 2... Dnt see the reason why its need to be induced

I was induced 5 months ago. They tried everything, I had medicine that went in my IV, two rounds that didn’t work they tried to break my water and to insert a balloon type device inside . Nothing worked. After three days had a c-section. The only problem was I lost so much blood and they didn’t know where it was coming from I almost died. It took two hours for the (my type of blood) to arrive at the hospital. It wasn’t anything they did (due to the fact of me loosing so much blood. Other then that I’m ok. Pregnant again 😍
