Exercise to target stomach area??

I've been wanting to develop my core/abs as well as reduce the fat on my lower stomach. Will sit-ups do this? Any tips?

Your better off starting with cardio. Jogging, riding, hill walking, swimming that kind of thing. Basically anything that gets you panting and your heart racing. Cardio burns fat faster and will help flatten your stomach. Then you can work on toning and ab building.
