5’11 and 426 lbs ?

Postby Pooh89 » Wed May 23, 2018 10:43 pm

I’m sitting at the doctor’s office and they weighed me in at 426 lbs. It makes me so sad. This is the highest weight I’ve been. I’ve loss weight many times only to gain it back. I don’t want weight loss surgery, I would rather lose it naturally.

I HAVE TO DO SOMETHING!!

I know how to lose weight I just can’t keep it off. I love junk food (cakes, chips, and ice cream) I would eat those things most days instead of a meal. That’s my weakness. I do love veggies and salads also.

I’m thinking about doing the Keto diet and intermittent fasting...

If you have problems with snacking try appetite suppressants. A lot of people in the fitness community talk them down but I’ve found them really helpful since I’m one of those people who is always hungry and wanting to eat even if I’m not. I’ve liked the brands BoomBod and Flat Tummy Co has new lollipops that I use religiously when I’m hungry in between meals. You can order both online. Good luck hun.

Keto is amazing. I have had extremely good results on it. It’s not hard. There’s so many good things to eat. Stay under 20g carbs a day, don’t have ANY sugar, (i use natural stevia for sweetener) eat fat for satiety and always meet your protein goal. I don’t care what anyone says, I’ve had the best results with keto, my blood pressure has gone down, I’ve lost pounds and inches, I was pre diabetic and now I’m not. I feel better than ever on keto! There’s a Facebook group called Keto Connection, join it if you can, there’s sooooo many good recipes and it’s like having a big keto family that’s really supportive. You can do it! You can always talk to or see people who started at the same weight as you and see their progress.

I’ve been part of a healthy community for the last 2 years. We follow a program called Optavia. It puts you into a mild ketosis (fat burn), while still getting all the nutrients your body needs, it is sustainable and teaches you about changing your habits to transform your life. If you’re interested, we could connect and talk about your goals and see if this is something that might be a good fit for you.

Have you been to see an endocrinologist? I'm in the same battle at 5'4" and 486 lbs. I've found that I have a lot of horomone issues that allow me to lose copious amounts of weight, but never keep it off. We are working to correct some things so that this time hopefully I can keep the weight off.

Also, my endocrinologist said she was glad I didn't go for the bypass because it would have only worked temporarily and then the weight would have come back because I don't have food issues, but my body can't always process the food as it should.
